The Faerie Grove

Millie as The Faerie Queene
This costume was commissioned specifically for the role of Faerie Queene at the 2002 Georgia Ren Faire for Millicent Hand. We went for a regal and elegant look, yet it is very practical and durable. This design was carefully planned down to the last detail. Meg created a impressive pair of 4 feet tall double panel Faerie Wings. The bodice and jacket were crafted by Athens seamstress Rebecca Ballard. The rest of costume was created by Cat. The decorative beading and detailed wig were created by Yaya.

Shelly as The Water Faerie
A revealing yet natural costume, soft and very classic. Designed by Yaya and made in combined efforts.

Jacky as The Autumn Faerie
A dryad forest faerie feeling. We really wanted to capture the changing of seasons from summer to fall. The simplicity and sensuality of this piece gives it a more mature yet innocent feeling. What we like the most is the earthiness of this costume.

Krisalyn as The Dark Faerie
It is a romantic creation in which we have embodied the allure of evening. The ensemble flows with airy sheers over a long a-line skirt, fitted shrug and elegant corset.

Amanda as The Spring Flower Faerie
The design is original but the costume was first made to portray an anime character by Yaya, to be seen on her website: www.angelicstar.net. It's very sweet and innocent looking, with flowers, ribbons and beads decorating a corset and skirt. Delicate sheer angel wings complete the look of this flower faerie.

Yaya as The Fire Faerie
It was an original costume designed by Yaya. Meg created the beautiful wings while Yaya spent over a month of intense work on the rest of this piece. It is very powerful, with cascating flames from the shoulders, dripping strands of beads and leather accents. For more of Yaya's personal costumes, see www.angelicstar.net.

The Faerie Grove is an Atlanta-based unique Fantasy and Faerie Costuming Business run by three young women. It began as wingmaker Meg Porter's (www.waterangel.com) gallery of work and online store in 1999 and since expanded tremendously with the joint effort of Yaya Han (www.angelicstar.net) and Cat Robinson (www.sewinggoddess.com). All three have been interested in costuming for years and decided to combine their talents and skills as the team behind Faerie Grove. Today The Faerie Grove strives to offer high quality wings, fantasy ears and horns, accessories and since recently clothing and costumes pieces to a vast audience, ranging from Renaissance Faire attendees, models, convention- goers to the gothic community. Each product is hand-crafted with care and the designs are original and inspiring. We are constantly designing and crafting new pieces and are open to inquiries for custom work. Please visit our revamped web site at http://www.faeriegrove.com for updates and more info; you can also contact us at order@faeriegrove.com or direct your questions and comments to Yaya at yaya@angelicstar.net.
