check out our co-sponsors of this show, killer online clothing store The Edge... www.edgenow.com for fresh threads!

listen to tracks from Aleamapper, Richard Devine's 2002 release here:
http://www.schematic.net/listen.htm
hear a mix from 2001 at www.warprecords.com, click "warpradio" on the bottom task bar; richard's mix is the turquoise puzzle piece...

i'm looking for a more recent mix...check back

I really want to go to this, but I have to get up super early on Friday morning... so any idea about when R. Devine is going on? time slots of any kind would be nice.
Thanks!

Oh another thing about Devine...
I met him when I went to the Plaid show a long time ago, and I didn't know who he was and everybody there who knew anything did (how embarrassing!), he'd just gotten off of a soldout tour through Europe and here I was asking "um, so like, what do you play?" He was the nicest guy to talk to, really modest about his career accomplishments that I had thus far been oblivious to. Anyway, after that, I decided to check out his stuff, and it's really just fricken' amazing (read a description of it on the flyer or that red&black link). I think he's one of the most under recognized artists that's come out of Atlanta and moved onto the international scene.
If you can make it out to this show, I would really really recommend you go, it's worth the drive to Athens. It's only $7 (you could make that panhandling in less than an hour!) and the other people on the lineup are quality, too.
GO TO THIS!!

another thing, to add to katie's thing

(heh..thing):

the promo copy of the new richard devine record JUST came in..and it's...um.

it's everything i had hoped autechre's "confield" would be when i read about it. it's got that metal-on-heart sort of grinding emotional complexity, but at the same time it dissects the notion of sound to its base elements.

freaking amazing.
