This mix did a great job of returning me to memories of old-skool Reggae. The entire CD was full of it and old-skool anthems. MC Navigator did a good job of keeping the crowd in San Fran happy, but I thought at times his MCing presence could have rested a minute to let both audiences, live and not, listen to some of the older tracks that were thrown down. The tracks matched Navigator's MCing skills and the team that AK and Navigator made was what a good collaboration always needs.
Unfortunately, I am not the largest fan of constant MCing and calls for the rewind, the lighter crew, etc. Some of it seemed unnecessary at times, especially when it drowns out vocals. The track selection and mixing skills of AK1200 were on mark, and even highlighted some of his other abilities, like the "scratch attack," as Navigator put it. The entire mix went through a journey, going from Upbeat to Downtempo and then smashed into some dance floor favorites. This CD was not the best I have heard from AK, but it definitely was not the worst. If you enjoy the MCing of Navigator, I believe you would enjoy this mix, otherwise, your style may not necessarily match the flow of AK's latest CD.
