JIVE Magazine Rating: 4 out of 5 stars World-renowned dance music label Yoshitoshi Recordings is pleased to announce the fourth installment of their In House We Trust series. In House We Trust 4: Mixed by Alex Neri (Planet Funk) and Omid 16B is set to arrive on the heels of the highly successful In House We Trust 3: Mixed by Luke Fair and Desyn Masiello. Picking up where the last installment left off, In House We Trust 4 represents a cross-section of the best of Yoshitoshi and Shinichi Recording’s past, present, and future. The original In House We Trust was mixed and compiled by Deep Dish, the Grammy award winning DJ/producers and owners of Yoshitoshi Recordings, in 1996. The series was revived in 2002 with the help of up and coming stars Behrouz and MV(Envy). In 2003 The Dish turned their catalogue over to progressive darlings Luke Fair and Desyn Masiello, the result was the acclaimed In House We Trust 3. Now, in 2004, Deep Dish have pegged up-and-comers Alex Neri (of Planet Funk) and Omid 16B to mix the fourth installment of this highly successful series. “They’re both prominent producers and djs with their own unique style, sound and following,” say Deep Dish, “We wanted to see their take on the catalog – it’s quite different from the previous releases.” In House We Trust 4 shows yet another side of Yoshitoshi and Shinichi, and showcases the strength and diversity of the labels. Alex Neri is one-half of the production duo Planet Funk. Beginning his career at age 13 spinning records in his father’s nightclub, Italian-born Neri gained respect throughout Italy (and later the rest of Europe) with his hypnotically funky DJ style. His work with Marco Baneri as Planet Funk garnered the duo three major awards at the 2003 Italian Music Awards including “Best Group,” “Best Dance Act” and “Best New Act.” After an extensive European and Austrailian tour, Neri returned to his brand new recording studio in Tuscany where he soon began mixing the latest installment of the In House We Trust Series. With disc one of In House We Trust 4, Alex Neri is set to take on America using his innovative blend of house, funk and electronica that has won over the rest of the world. Omid 16B has been hailed as being “on the cutting edge of the UK dance scene”… His debut album ‘Sounds from another room’, pitched Omid’s flag firmly early ’98. After creating a stir in the UK and worldwide, Wateride taken from the album went on national TV to millions. His second 16B album ‘How to live 100 years’ (2002) with the single ‘Escape Driving to Heaven’ feat. Morel went Top 10 in the UK Independents. On top of being an outstanding producer and remixer (his credits include work for the The Cure, GUS GUS, Depeche Mode, Steve Lawler, Francois K. and Danny Howells among others). Omid’s infamous DJ sets have proven his unique intake of sounds with early classics as well as the latest offerings with flavours of electronic techy-disco/house….that still finds him time to sign new music and develop artists through his two UK-based labels Sexonwax and Alola. The Yoshitoshi compilation is a prime example of where Omid has fused Yoshi’s classic’s with unreleased material in his own individual fashion, adding his remixes for Yoshi with the addition of extra Fx’s and loops thrown in creating a vibe that can only be heard by the hands of Omid 16B. His nocturnal style is encapsulated on disc 2 of In House We Trust 4. Release source: Funky Dumpling PR
