Chessmaster® 10th Edition is a wonderful game for the chess enthusiast. What makes it so versatile is that it appeals to all types of chess players, including beginners, intermediate and advance levels.

This is an extraordinary version of the old Chessmaster games, because you can learn from international master Josh Waitzkin himself, who was subject of the movie, Searching for Bobby Fischer.

- You will receive personalized instruction at the Chessmaster Academy.
- Grandmaster Larry Christiansen gives detailed advice on the best attacking strategy.
- Are you ready to go up against rated players? Well you can test your skills using Grandmaster Larry Evans’ end game quiz.
- Can you anticipate the moves of famous masters? Advanced players will enjoy the “Match the Masters” section.

Other notable features:

- Chess coaching features such as audio advice for every move.
- Avoid disastrous mistakes with the improved blunder alert mode, which I found to be hilarious and priceless in my case as a novice player.
- Powerful enough to challenge a grandmaster.
- A specialized instruction book mode that would be ideal for younger players.
- Whimsical 3D sets and board mods, some of which actually animate as they move across the board.
- You experience chess in an ultra 3D environment and can even use 3D glasses!
- For the serious player, there are a variety of tournaments or you can create your own tournament.
- Set up position mode for analyzing a variety of strategies.
- Customizable time settings.

All in all a wonderful chess playing experience and we highly recommend this to chess players of all levels. The game is also a wonderful tutor so if you’ve been thinking about learning how to play chess, grab a copy of Chessmaster and you’ll be well on your way to mastering the game.
